Internships

Time to invest in your own career?

As an intern at Nordea Markets you can spend either summer, fall or spring getting equipped for the future. You will work with our team of experts for clients ranging from the largest Nordic corporations to medium sized companies. Sounds like a big challenge? Well, it is.

An eight-week crash course in the world of finance

Want to learn about financial markets and get your foot in the door at the leading capital markets operator in the Nordic region? Then fasten your seat belt. During your stay you will work alongside our specialists and get introduced to all our departments and fields of expertise.

Every week you will solve and present a new case related to Credit Research, Macro Analysis, Foreign Exchange, Investments, Derivatives and Risk Advisory.

We are looking to take two people on board at our Stockholm office, and the internship lasts for eight weeks.

To apply for the FICC Summer Internship, please send your application, including cover letter, CV and grade transcripts no later than 31 January. Read more and apply now on Nordea.comOpens new window.

Become part of the leading Nordic Advisory team

Our Advisory team consists of around 80 professionals located at our offices in Copenhagen, Helsinki, Oslo and Stockholm. From here, they complete transactions and work with mergers and acquisitions, leverage buy-outs, initial public offerings and other equity offerings.

As an intern in our Advisory department you will work closely with experienced investment bankers and get first-hand knowledge of the key disciplines of corporate finance and investment banking. Not from studying books, but from solving real cases for real clients.

We offer positions during the spring, summer and autumn. The spring and autumn internships last 20 weeks, while the summer internship lasts 10 weeks.

Work with Debt Capital Markets

Our people in Debt Capital Markets are responsible for arranging, structuring and executing a variety of debt transactions including corporate acquisition financing, general corporate refinancing, leveraged buyouts as well as other types of complex debt transactions.

This may sound complicated, but after being part of the team for 20 weeks you will have a better understanding of what leveraged finance is about. You will be an integral part of the leading debt house in the Nordic region and work on real cases together with experienced professionals.

We offer positions during the spring and autumn (not during the summer). The internships last 20 weeks.

Take a peek inside during Spring Week

If you are at your first or second year of study, we offer you the opportunity to visit us and learn more about our business. During Spring Week you will become familiar with some of our key areas:

  • Fixed Income, Currencies, Commodities and Equity (sales, trading and research)
  • Investment Banking Advisory (corporate finance)
  • Investment Banking Debt Capital Markets

It goes without saying that you should have an interest in the financial markets and finance in general, combined with an analytical mindset. We also expect you to have an outgoing personality and to thrive in a dynamic environment. You must enjoy having personal responsibility as well as being part of a team, since this is the way we work at Nordea Markets.

What do we expect from candidates?

As an intern you will be part of one of the best teams in the Nordic region and end up with a set of tools you can benefit from throughout your career. So of course we have high expectations the other way around.

A strong academic record combined with strong numerical and analytical skills is a natural starting point. But having the right attitude and personality is just as important.

We look for team players who are able to produce high quality work under tight deadlines. We also expect you to be confident and self-driven, with a mindset to constantly improve and develop yourself.

Furthermore, we expect you to meet the following criteria:

  • Positive mindset and an outgoing personality
  • Fluent in Swedish and English, both speaking and writing
  • Great social and communication skills
  • Ability to work, make decision and be nice under pressure
