CO2 emissions

Climate quotas are important for local and international attempts to reduce CO2 emission growth rates. One climate quota corresponds to one ton of carbon dioxide.

A number of companies and industrial enterprises have public permission to release carbon dioxide. Companies needing additional emission rights can purchase climate quotas, and companies possessing more emission rights than needed, can sell its unused quotas.

Nordea provides the tools to hedge emissions price risks in purchase and sell quotas, including CER and EUA climate quotas.
